Our Wedding

We met in a modern way, through a dating app, and quickly discovered a genuine connection. Our first date at Asher Cafe in Northeast lasted well into the evening. Despite Maddie parking too far away than intended, arriving 15 minutes late, and frequently using the word “lit,” we ended up closing down the restaurant after hours of conversation. Andy then walked Maddie back to her car, graciously doing so while in urgent need of a restroom. Our second date included Long Island iced teas at Can Can Wonderland, followed by Indian food after Maddie badly lost against Andy in mini golf....Three years later, in September 2025, we became engaged in Las Vegas, marking the next chapter of our story.

Our Story

Our engagement took place at Sadelle’s in the Bellagio Gardens, thanks to Andy’s investigative planning skills and talent for finding a very good deal. He secured an exclusive table tucked into the garden, complete with a tiered brunch and a bottle of champagne. After the last bites and a full pour, he popped the question. As the moment landed, onlookers in the gardens cheered, smiled, and offered congratulations, turning a quiet surprise into a shared celebration we will never forget.

REHEARSAL DINNERWe ask the wedding party and those traveling to dress casually. This includes jeans, sweaters, sweater dresses, or any other equally casual attire.WEDDINGWe kindly request that guests dress in formal wedding attire. For gentlemen, this includes dress slacks paired with a button-up shirt and tie, or a suit. For ladies, we encourage formal dresses or equally elegant attire.As our bridesmaids will be wearing navy, we kindly ask that guests refrain from wearing navy dresses. Navy suits, however, are perfectly welcome.

Dress Code

Built in 1899 for Frank and Anne Semple, the Semple Mansion reflects the success of one of Minneapolis’s most prominent families at the turn of the century. Frank B. Semple was a partner and vice president of Janney, Semple &amp; Co., a wholesale hardware firm that earned him the nickname “the Hardware King of Minneapolis.” Designed by Long, Lamoreaux &amp; Long in the Second Italian Renaissance Revival style, the mansion features European details and the Grand Palladian Ballroom, the largest original residential ballroom in Minnesota. In 1998, it was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Inspired by Stained Glass

Our wedding is inspired by a collection of places that shaped our story. The bride hand-traced stained glass designs from locations we’ve visited together, turning each one into a small window into a memory. Throughout the celebration, you’ll see these details woven in—each piece a reflection of where we’ve been and a glimpse of where we’re going next.

Save the Date

This design was inspired by the stained glass ceiling at The Breakers in Newport, Rhode Island. The photo on the left shows the original skylight, which we photographed during our first trip to Newport in 2023. We’ve always loved the stained glass and architectural details found in historic homes, especially those we’ve visited together. Invitation

Our wedding invitation was inspired by the stained glass and architectural details of the Gothic Room at Marble House in Newport, Rhode Island. Built by Alva and William K. Vanderbilt in the late 1800s, Marble House is one of our favorite examples of Gilded Age architecture. The Gothic Room is especially known for its pointed arches, intricate woodwork, and colorful stained glass. Table Number Cards

Our table numbers were actually the starting point for our wedding theme. Each one features a stained glass lamp inspired by lamps we’ve seen together while traveling, including pieces from museums and historic homes we’ve visited. I started drawing these lamps simply because I loved their designs, but as I worked on them, they became the inspiration for incorporating stained glass throughout our wedding. Wedding Sign

Our wedding sign was inspired by one of the Heckscher stained glass panels we saw at the Morse Museum in Winter Park, Florida. We visited the museum with Andy’s aunt, who also officiated our wedding, which makes this piece especially meaningful to us. I loved the colors and details of the original panel and wanted to incorporate some of those elements into a design of my own. Like the stained glass lamps featured in our table numbers, it’s another way we’ve brought inspiration from places we’ve visited together into our wedding.https://morsemuseum.org/collection-highlights/windows/heckscher-panels-full/

Drink Signs

The decorative borders of our drink table signs were inspired by a stained glass window we saw at the Richard H. Driehaus Museum in Chicago. Housed in a restored Gilded Age mansion, the museum features elaborate historic interiors, a Tiffany glass exhibition, and a large stained glass dome skylight.
